From the author of CARRIE SOTO IS BACK THE SEVEN HUSBANDS OF EVELYN HUGO and the bestselling MALIBU RISING

'I LOVE it 。 。 。 I can't remember the last time I read a book that was so fun' DOLLY ALDERTON

Everybody knows Daisy Jones and the Six。

From the moment Daisy walked barefoot on to the stage at the Whisky, she and the band were a sensation。

Their sound defined an era。 Their albums were on every turntable。 They played sold-out arenas from coast to coast。

Then, on 12 July 1979, it all came crashing down。

They were lovers, friends, brothers。 But they were also rivals。

This is the story of their legendary rise and irrevocable fall。 A story of ambition, desire, heartbreak and music。

Everyone was there。 Everyone remembers it differently。 Nobody knew why they split。 Until now。。。

It definitely took me a while to get used to the format of this book。 But once I got in the groove, I read 250 pages in 2 days and finished it completely。 It was a gripping story from start to finish, and I loved that every page had a twist to it。 Compared to Malibu Rising, there was a lot more angst in this book。 It had the same idea of love and lust as Evelyn Hugo, and the full circle moment at the end had me screaming "WTF" out loud into an empty room。 It definitely took me a while to get used to the format of this book。 But once I got in the groove, I read 250 pages in 2 days and finished it completely。 It was a gripping story from start to finish, and I loved that every page had a twist to it。 Compared to Malibu Rising, there was a lot more angst in this book。 It had the same idea of love and lust as Evelyn Hugo, and the full circle moment at the end had me screaming "WTF" out loud into an empty room。 。。。more

Read this in 2 days after being in a little reading slump。 Very quick-paced and fun read! I don't think there was much that was ground-breaking about it, but it was definitely an engaging book that I didn't want to put down。 I love that it takes you back to a different time period and sets you in the party-scene of the late 70's。 Also, even though it's only loosely based on Fleetwood Mac, I loved the drama and all the messages and how it can relate to real-world moments。 Read this in 2 days after being in a little reading slump。 Very quick-paced and fun read! Read for the first time in 2019 via physicalCopy and remember being ENTHRALLED。 Did the audio in 2023 and didn’t find it as compelling…but still loved the acting。 I just didn’t find the structure as good this time around。

My favorite books always tend to be those that take risks with the way they tell the story。 Risks are… well… risky。 Sometimes it works, most of the times is does not。 But there is something magical that happens when it all pays off and comes together。 The way the author told this story was SO incredibly risky, and could have easily become difficult to follow, boring, or annoyingly convoluted。 But it’s was done so beautifully and intentionally that it made the story。 While the plot and characters My favorite books always tend to be those that take risks with the way they tell the story。 Risks are… well… risky。 Sometimes it works, most of the times is does not。 But there is something magical that happens when it all pays off and comes together。 The way the author told this story was SO incredibly risky, and could have easily become difficult to follow, boring, or annoyingly convoluted。 But it’s was done so beautifully and intentionally that it made the story。 While the plot and characters were interesting in themselves, the method of storytelling elevated everything to an entirely new level。 It was compelling, intriguing, and absolutely wonderful to read: love, Love, LOVE。 。。。more

Two reasons I read this book: 1。 I needed a genre cleanse and 2。 My wife wanted to watch the show on Amazon Prime together, and I thought it looked good。 This book is a good example of not judging a book by its cover or genre for me。 I don’t typically read historical fiction, especially historical fiction that might be romance heavy。 So, I was pleasantly surprised by this book when I read it。First, this book is told in the form of interviews and focuses on the decade of the seventies with a fict Two reasons I read this book: 1。 I needed a genre cleanse and 2。 My wife wanted to watch the show on Amazon Prime together, and I thought it looked good。 This book is a good example of not judging a book by its cover or genre for me。 I don’t typically read historical fiction, especially historical fiction that might be romance heavy。 So, I was pleasantly surprised by this book when I read it。First, this book is told in the form of interviews and focuses on the decade of the seventies with a fictional band being front and center。 I liked this because it was different and it made the book fly by。 Next, the book wasn’t really a romance at all, even though there are plot points that are romance based。 It is more about people living life。 Having to live with the choices they make, the mistakes they make, and the consequences of those two things。 Also, I found it interesting to read about the sex, drugs, and rock & roll lifestyle。 You live large, but I wouldn’t say it is easy at all。 It left me with a certain amount of melancholy and empathy for the characters that I wouldn’t expect at the onset of the book。 Anyway, if you are like me and need something different, will leave you reflective, and is a quick read, I would say give this one a go。 。。。more

It was fine! not in love with it。 quick read, soapy, I see why it is being adapted。

With the massive amount of hype surrounding this book I definitely expected more from Daisy Jones & The Six。 Don’t get me wrong I liked the story but it didn’t have that special flair to it。 Finishing this book felt like I was finishing a Lifetime movie, it was an interesting story but didn’t leave the impression that I hoped it would。

I wasn’t planning listening in one go, but the audiobook made it impossible to stop。 The decision of having a full cast was brilliant。 I also wasn’t sure if I would enjoy this story because I’m not a huge fan of the music from the 70s, but once again Taylor surprised me and had me interested from beginning to end。 Highly recommend! If you can, go for the audiobook。

4。7⭐️this was definitely unlike any book i’ve ever read。 i really liked the interview style of the book that allows us to get everyone’s pov and thoughts on a certain point in time, even the irrelevant characters。 there wasn’t a big gasp factor that i thought there would be (except for ya know) but overall i really enjoyed this book and am excited to watch the show and listen to the album。

Daisy Jones & The Six weren't just on something, they were onto something!I loved this book and vibes of the 70s。 Taylor Jenkins Reid proved once again that historical fiction is her thing。 She made the characters come to life in the most raw way。 I felt mesmerised by this story! This one took me a bit longer to get through! I was not use to the interview format! I loved how you got a raw account of everyone in the same situation! Have a really cool behind the curtain look at 70’s rock and roll and Hollywood! The music nerd in me LOVED so many elements and THAT such in Author POV and the ending?! Heart wrenching and emotional! 💔

I could not put this book down。 It seems like it would be about rock n roll, but it was really a book about human relationships。 I loved how the unreliability of the narrators emphasized the influence of these relationships on the ways in which we view the stories of our lives。 All of the characters had something meaningful to say, in their own ways of course, that resonated with me, despite some of them being unlikeable by nature。 All their stories combined discussed our raw human emotions that I could not put this book down。 It seems like it would be about rock n roll, but it was really a book about human relationships。 I loved how the unreliability of the narrators emphasized the influence of these relationships on the ways in which we view the stories of our lives。 All of the characters had something meaningful to say, in their own ways of course, that resonated with me, despite some of them being unlikeable by nature。 All their stories combined discussed our raw human emotions that are hard to talk about; love, hate, our vices, our virtues and how sometimes they are all the same。 Additionally, I LOVED Warren as a character。 Everything he had to add to the book was hysterical yet intuitive。 Down to the little details, this book did not disappoint, and I can’t wait to see the television series next!! 。。。more
